CURRENT INITIATIVES 

Some of the recent initiative and work of our association. ​

Ceres Wind Farm Project ( 33 Articles ) 
While this is not a BPPA project, it is relevant.
The Ceres Project will deliver an estimated 600MW of clean electricity source directly  to metropolitan Adelaide. It will be located approximately 20km south-west of Ardrossan on the Yorke Peninsula and comprises four clusters (northern, central east, central west and southern).


40 Year Lease ( 1 Article ) 
Consultation and negotiation with the District Council of Yorke Peninsula, and the various offices of the Department for Environment and Heritage including Coastal Protection Branch and Land Administration Branch.

 

Rex Minerals ( 36 Articles ) 
Rex Minerals Ltd (“Rex”) is an Australian minerals exploration and development company with large-scale copper-gold projects on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Rex has made an initial large-scale copper-gold discovery at the Hillside Project and aims to discover multiple large-scale copper-gold deposits underneath shallow cover rocks on the Yorke Peninsula. Rex is progressively expanding on the initial Resource at Hillside and continuing with its regional exploration program to achieve its vision of developing a new large-scale, low-cost and long-life mining operation on the Yorke Peninsula.

 

RecFishSA and PIRSA ( 8 Articles ) 
RecFish SA is the recognised peak body, whose role is to advise government on recreational angling issues and to advocate on behalf of the 236,463 recreational anglers in South Australia. The recreational sector spends $1million every day of the year in pursuit of recreational angling, is the fifth largest employer supporting 15,000 jobs and has a total investment of $1.2 billion in boats and tackle. Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) is a dynamic Government of South Australia agency with the vision of growing sustainable and competitive regions. PIRSA is committed to the sustainable use of the state's agriculture, wine, seafood, forestry, and food industries along with the provision of associated research, regulation, policy development and biosecurity imperatives. Maxine Hawke Park ( 6 Articles ) 
Revegetation and woodlot program- including implementation of a recycled water irrigation system. Walking Trail and Maxine Hawke Park development& maintenance.

 

Memorial Wall ( 2 Articles ) 
Development of a Heritage area and Memorial Wall neat the top of the boat ramp and caravan park area.

 

Slip Lane ( 2 Articles ) 
Investigating the construction of a slip lane on the Coast Road.

 

Beach Party ( 7 Articles ) 
Did someone say party!

 

Rubbish Bins ( 0 Articles ) 
Provision of  “bin return” service (return of bins to shacks from roadside after rubbish collections) when you are not at the shack (ie when you leave at the end of the weekend).

 

Govnt and Council Relations ( 0 Articles ) 
Regular representation of the needs of members and our community with District Council Yorke Peninsula, Department of Environment & Heritage, Department of Transport , Tourism SA and other key departments and service agencies. Partnership Projects with District Council including upgrade to the Caravan & Camping Ground.

 

Boat Ramp Upgrade ( 11 Articles ) 
Upgrading the boat ramp/trailer park.
